Managing Director - Roelof Troskie
Roelof

Roelof was born in Claremont in Cape Town in 1965. He completed his schooling at Groote Schuur High in Cape Town, before attending the University of Cape Town, earning his B-Com degree. Roelof qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 after completing his articles at Price Waterhouse Coopers. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Law at the University of Cape Town. Roelof is a sports enthusiast and loves a round of golf, being a handicap of 11. He attends most rugby games at Newlands Stadium, and is actively involved at the Hamiltons Rugby Club in Green Point. Roelof has been involved in the tourism and hospitality industry since 1995 and he is chairman of the Waterfront Home Owners Association, Roelof is based at the Waterfront Village.


Village Manager - Johadrie Weber
Johadrie

Johadrie was born in Pretoria 1985. She grew up in Namibia and completed her schooling at Windhoek High School in Windhoek. She studied a B.Com Marketing at the University of Johannesburg for 2 years, before moving to Cape Town and starting her studies in Hotel Management. She earned her Diplomas for Hotel Management and Food and Beverage Management in 2006 and went on to join Village & Life in the same year. She lives in Parklands and likes exploring the many secrets of the Western Cape in her time off.


Reservations Manager - Valencia Santi
Valencia

Valencia grew up in the heart of Cape Town and matriculated at Heideveld Senior Secondary School. After a short computer course she met her husband and moved to Heidelberg where she started her career in the tourism industry. Before joining Village and Life she worked intensively in F&B and reception. She is an outdoor person and loves spending time with her children.



Executive Housekeeper - Sonica Geduldt

Sonica

Sonica grew up in Atlantis and attended Proteus High School. She started in the hospitality industry at a young age as a room attendant and steadily worked her way up the ranks where she worked seven years for the Winchester Mansion Hotel in Sea Point. She joined the Raddisson Sas group in 2007 were she worked as a floor supervisor. Sonica joined Village & Life in April 2008 as an Assistant Executive Housekeeper. She lives in Mitchells Plain  with her 3 boys and is a great soccer fan.


Maintenance Manager - Etienne de Villiers

Etienne

Etienne was born and grew up in Windhoek, he completed his
Grade 12 year in 2003 at Windhoek High School. He found his liking in the tourism industry when he started to work at Cape Cross Lodge in Namibia.  He travelled to the UK for a year before starting his 3-year National Diploma course in Management. After successful completion of his studies, Etienne joined Village & Life in March 2008. He started as a handyman at the Waterfront Village. He has to date completed his studies for a National Certificate in Construction Management and is currently busy obtaining a National Certificate in Quantity Surveying. Etienne currently stays in Parklands and enjoys camping, sport and socialising with friends


Village Accountant - Liezl Human
Liezel Human

Liezl has been with us at Village and Life for just over a year. She was born in Fort Beaufort and attended school in Somerset West at Parel Vallei High School.  After School, Liezl achieved her National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting at Stellenbosch and then went travelling in Europe and Asia, when not working as an accountant for an investment company in London.  Liezl loves to ride horses, read, explore the country and spend time with friends and family


Corporate Sales - Alastair van Noordwyk
Alastair

Alastair is originally from Natal and after matriculating at Tygerberg he went on to complete his three year Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management in Cape Town.  His work experience includes a hotel group in Natal, his own catering-related business, his family's boutique hotel and also running Theo's in Mouille Point for a number of months. Alastair originates from a family of hoteliers, with his parents, grand parents and great-grand parents all being involved in the hospitality industry. Alastair has been with Village & Life for 1 year, loves working with people and is known as a party animal. His personal motto is “Carpe Diem,” meaning “Seize the day,” as that is how he feels everyday, and believes that such a motto will go far to inspire success in the dynamic team of spirited individuals he works with at Village & Life.
